The combination of creativity and practicality in homemade phone holders
Phone Holder ViewCount
Holding a mobile phone for a long time not only causes hand fatigue, but may also affect visual health. To solve this problem, I have decided to make a homemade phone holder that is both convenient to use and can protect my health.
My creative inspiration came from a chance encounter. That day, while tidying up the clutter at home, I found an abandoned plastic bottle and some scrap metal wires. These seemingly useless items have sparked sparks of creativity in my mind. I thought to myself that if these materials could be cleverly combined, perhaps a simple and practical phone holder could be made.
Firstly, I started designing and planning. I need to consider the stability, adjustability, and portability of the phone holder. After some consideration, I have decided to adopt a triangular structure because triangles are the most stable geometric shape. Next, I measured the size of the phone and determined the height and angle of the bracket.
After all the materials were prepared, I started making them by hand. The first step is to cut the exterior of the plastic bottle into a triangular frame. This step is not easy because the material of plastic bottles is relatively soft and prone to deformation. I carefully cut along the marked line with scissors, occasionally stopping to adjust the angle to ensure that the triangular frame cut out is flat and sturdy.
After cutting, I bent the metal wire into two intersecting brackets and fixed them on both sides of the triangular frame. This process requires a certain amount of patience and skill, as metal wires are relatively hard and not easily bent into the desired shape. I adjusted the angle of the metal wires bit by bit with pliers until they could firmly support the phone.
Next, I placed the phone on the stand and found that it couldn't stand steadily. So, I added a small disc at the bottom of the triangular frame as the base for my phone. This small disc is cut from waste plastic board, and its function is to increase friction and prevent the phone from sliding.
In order to make the phone stand more adjustable, I installed a rotating shaft at the top of the triangular frame. This rotating shaft is composed of a thin wire and a small bearing. By rotating the axis, I can easily adjust the angle of my phone, whether it's watching videos or playing games, I can find the most comfortable usage posture.
However, the production process was not smooth sailing. During an angle adjustment, I found that the frictional force on the rotating shaft was too high, causing the phone holder to be less flexible. To solve this problem, I applied some lubricating oil on both ends of the rotating shaft so that the phone holder can be easily rotated without getting stuck.
In addition, I also consider the portability of the phone holder. In order to make it more lightweight, I cut off the excess plastic bottle parts and only retained the most basic frame structure. At the same time, I polished the metal wire smooth to make it more beautiful and less likely to scratch the phone.
After several days of hard work, my homemade phone holder has finally been completed. It not only has a simple and beautiful appearance, but also has powerful and practical functions. I can't wait to test its performance and see if it meets my needs.
I placed my phone on the stand and gently rotated the rotation axis to adjust it to the optimal viewing angle. The image on the screen is clear and stable, without any shaking or blurring. I have tried several different usage scenarios, including watching videos, playing games, and reading e-books, and found that phone stands can provide good support.
Not only that, I also found some unexpected advantages of making a homemade phone stand. For example, its production materials are common waste in daily life, which is both environmentally friendly and cost-effective. Secondly, its structure is simple, easy to disassemble and assemble, convenient to carry and store. Most importantly, it allowed me to experience the joy and sense of accomplishment of hands-on production.
Once, my friends and I went on an outdoor picnic together. We have decided to play a mobile game that requires collaboration among multiple people, but everyone is concerned that holding the phone for a long time may cause fatigue. At this point, I took out my homemade phone holder and easily solved the problem. Friends all praise it endlessly, praising it as both practical and creative.
Another time, I was preparing for an online meeting at home. In order to maintain good sitting posture and visibility, I used a homemade phone stand. Its height and angle can be adjusted freely, allowing me to maintain a comfortable state throughout the meeting. After the meeting, my colleagues asked me where I bought the phone holder from and were surprised and impressed to learn that I made it myself.
Over time, I have made multiple improvements and optimizations to my homemade phone holder. I tried using different materials and structures to improve its stability and durability. For example, I replaced the original metal wire with a stronger one, making the bracket more sturdy; I added a layer of rubber pad at the bottom of the triangular frame to increase friction and anti slip effect.
